This past week, my sister Jacqueline came in for a visit! She lives in GA now, so it was fun to show her around my new (albeit temporary) stomping grounds.
Day 1: Freedom Trail all around Boston
Jax @ Paul Revere's home :: We got an Oreo cannoli at the famous Mike's Pastry. It wasn't until after eating it that I decided I actually don't like cannoli very much. Probably would have been a good thing to decide before completing my half, but, you win some, you lose some.
Cute Jax at cute Faneuil Hall Market place :: Kat at an invigorating lecture at a historic church
(Side note about the shirt Jax is wearing.. it's mine... and I was wearing it a few weeks ago when Rob & I were out running errands. We ended up stopping at a high school girl's rugby bake sale. So we go up, I feel like I'm only slightly older than these girls, and then one girl says, "My mom has that shirt". haha.
Shot down.)
Day 2: Walden Pond and Concord.
I guess we have no pictures from Concord, but this is a picture of us in a replica of the structure that Henry David Thoreau lived in at Walden Pond during the 1840s. It was teenie, aka 1 room with a bed, desk, stove, and chair. And he lived in it for 2 years. By himself. In the woods. To each his own, I suppose.
Day 3: Lake walk in the morning, Harvard during the day.
We caused a bit of ruckus, pumping water from a well (I seriously have no clue why this was there) and sliding down rail ways at Harvard. Bad to the bone.
Jax in front of the Charles River
Day 4: Salem & Rockport
Rob didn't have work on Day 4, so it was fun to all hang out together.
Some of our adventures in Salem:
In Rockport, we got crab cakes for lunch at the same place that Rob and I ate at a few weeks ago when we were up there. There were some cute tourists from Asia sitting at a table next to us, and they all had on bibs with giant lobsters on it. It was really funny/cute.
We also took Jax back to Halibut Point State Park, which was puh-retty.
I struggled a bit climbing back up to Jax from our place in the previous pic.
Slippery rocks + low-traction sandals + already having fallen 2x on my way down = a new, 4-legged approach to rock climbing. Once I reached the end, Rob jumped up right behind me, like a little monkey, quickly and easily moving with each step. That boy, he's good at making me look bad sometimes.
To end the night, we went to a local, old-fashioned diner called Cabot's. Jax and I split the Dentist Disaster. We should've known...

After:
Lesson learned. Until next time.
As always, a pleasure to have a sister in town. Wish we lived closer.

That dessert looks amazing! Did I ever tell you that your sweet sister lily is in my ward here in Provo? She is such a sweetie and brought me food after I had ruby and is going to help us clean (we are moving)! And when she came to pick up her dish she brought the yummiest cookies! Must be in the genes to be so sweet!
That looks like a fun time. I love your mom shirt and I love the action shots of you struggling up the rocks. Also, i had an oreo canoli from mike's while we were down there, and I felt the same way and then a little queasy the rest of the day. So fun to get to play with sisters!!!!
I LOLed so many times throughout that! Thanks for sharing your fun times with us, felt like I was there! :D

Geez, both of you look so cute! I still just can't believe all the fun historic places you get to see! I'm sooo jealous! What is all that pirate stuff in Salem? Looks cool! I loooove that picture of you and Rob out on the rocks, you should frame it :) Ha ha ha, those rocks look pretty scary climbing up, but you look cute doing it! Ha ha ha, that last picture! Have you turned into some Boston mafia ganagsta?? Miss you!
